Making a card in the middle of a good paragraph is still an interruption, even when generation is fast. Aoede now has a lighter capture path: mark a passage and keep reading. At the end of the section, a batch screen collects the pending marks so I can turn them into cards together, or dismiss the ones that no longer seem worth keeping.
That batch path follows the same local-first boundary as individual cards. On-device generation can run directly. If the selected backend sends text to a cloud service, Aoede shows what will leave the device and requires consent for that request. Review history and the set of known words remain local either way.
